Analytics
Track competition performance, revenue, customer insights, and ticket sales with the built-in analytics dashboard.
The analytics dashboard gives you real-time insights into how your competitions are performing. Monitor revenue trends, track ticket sales, understand your customers, and measure the effectiveness of your marketing campaigns -- all from a single, unified view.
Dashboard Overview
When you open Dashboard > Analytics, you are greeted by four headline metric cards that summarise your platform's overall performance:
| Metric | Description | |---|---| | Revenue | Total revenue generated across all competitions, after platform fees | | Tickets Sold | Total number of tickets sold across all active and completed competitions | | Entrants | Total unique entrants (deduplicated across competitions) | | Conversion Rate | Percentage of site visitors who completed a ticket purchase |
Each card displays the current value alongside a comparison to the previous period (week-on-week or month-on-month), with a green or red indicator showing the direction of change.
Date range selector
Use the date range picker at the top of the analytics page to filter all metrics and charts to a specific period. The default view shows the last 30 days.
Revenue Tab
The Revenue tab provides a detailed breakdown of your income over time.
Line chart
The primary revenue chart displays income as a line graph. You can toggle between three time granularities:
- Daily — individual data points for each day, ideal for spotting short-term trends
- Weekly — aggregated weekly totals, useful for identifying consistent patterns
- Monthly — high-level monthly revenue, best for long-term planning and growth tracking
Key revenue metrics
- Gross revenue — total ticket sales before any fees
- Platform fees — the percentage deducted based on your plan tier
- Net revenue — the amount paid out to your Stripe Connect account
- Average order value — mean spend per transaction (useful for evaluating bundle performance)
Revenue timing
Revenue is recorded at the point of purchase. Stripe payouts may take 1-2 business days to reach your bank account, but your analytics reflect sales in real time.
Tickets Tab
The Tickets tab visualises ticket sales volume using a bar chart, with a per-competition breakdown beneath it.
Bar chart
The bar chart shows total tickets sold per day (or week/month, depending on your selected granularity). Each bar can be colour-coded by competition if you have multiple running simultaneously.
Per-competition breakdown
Below the chart, a table lists each competition with its ticket sales metrics:
| Column | Description | |---|---| | Competition | Name and status (active, completed, paused) | | Tickets Sold | Number of tickets sold out of the total available | | Sell-through Rate | Percentage of available tickets that have been sold | | Revenue | Total revenue generated by that competition | | Avg. Ticket Price | Mean price paid per ticket (accounts for bundles and discounts) |
This view helps you compare which competitions are performing best and where you may need to adjust pricing or marketing.
Customers Tab
The Customers tab gives you insight into who is buying your tickets and how often they return.
Customer list
A searchable, sortable list of all entrants with the following columns:
| Column | Description | |---|---| | Name | Customer's name as provided at checkout | | Email | Contact email address | | Total Spent | Lifetime spend across all your competitions | | Competitions Entered | Number of distinct competitions they have entered | | Last Purchase | Date of their most recent ticket purchase |
Repeat buyers
A highlighted section shows your repeat buyer rate -- the percentage of customers who have entered more than one competition. Repeat buyers are your most valuable audience, and this metric helps you measure customer loyalty over time.
Engage repeat buyers
Use launch emails and ending soon reminders to keep repeat buyers informed about new competitions. They are already familiar with your brand and far more likely to purchase again.
CSV export pro+ plan
On the Pro plan and above, you can export your full customer list as a CSV file. Click the Export CSV button at the top of the Customers tab to download a spreadsheet containing all customer data.
The export includes:
- Customer name, email, and phone (if collected)
- Total spend and transaction count
- Competitions entered
- First and last purchase dates
GDPR considerations
Exported customer data is subject to GDPR. Ensure you have a lawful basis for processing and storing this data, and handle exports securely.
Traffic Tab
The Traffic tab shows where your visitors are coming from and how your marketing campaigns are performing.
UTM breakdown
If you use UTM parameters on your competition links, the Traffic tab displays a breakdown by:
- Source — where the traffic originates (e.g., facebook, google, newsletter)
- Medium — the marketing medium (e.g., cpc, email, social)
- Campaign — the specific campaign name you defined in your UTM tags
Each row shows the number of visitors, ticket purchases, and conversion rate for that traffic source.
Campaign performance
A summary table ranks your campaigns by effectiveness:
| Column | Description | |---|---| | Campaign | UTM campaign name | | Visitors | Total visitors attributed to this campaign | | Purchases | Number of ticket purchases from this traffic | | Conversion Rate | Percentage of visitors who purchased | | Revenue | Total revenue attributed to this campaign | | Cost per Acquisition | Revenue divided by purchases (useful for comparing ad spend) |
Setting up UTM tracking
Append UTM parameters to your competition URLs when sharing on social media or in ads. For example: yoursite.com/competitions/win-a-car?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=jan-launch. Giveawayz captures these automatically.
Per-Competition Analytics
In addition to the aggregate dashboard, each competition has its own analytics view. Navigate to Dashboard > Competitions, click on a competition, and select the Analytics tab.
Per-competition analytics include:
- Ticket sales over time — line chart showing daily sales velocity
- Revenue breakdown — gross, fees, and net for this specific competition
- Entry methods — split between paid entries and free postal entries
- Bundle performance — which bundle tier is most popular (if bundles are enabled)
- Top traffic sources — which channels are driving entries to this competition
- Conversion funnel — visitors, cart additions, and completed purchases
This view is particularly useful for comparing different pricing strategies or marketing approaches across competitions.
CSV Export pro+ plan
On the Pro plan and above, you can export data from any analytics tab as a CSV file. Export options are available for:
- Revenue data — daily, weekly, or monthly revenue figures
- Ticket sales — per-competition ticket volumes and pricing
- Customer data — full customer list with spend and activity history
- Traffic data — UTM source, medium, and campaign performance
Click the Export CSV button in the top-right corner of any analytics tab. The file downloads immediately and can be opened in Excel, Google Sheets, or any spreadsheet application.
Starter and Growth plans
On the Starter and Growth plans, basic competition data is still available in the dashboard. CSV export of full analytics data requires the Pro plan or above. See Pricing Plans for details.
